Form Industrial Products has completed a major decarbonization project with the implementation of a 4 MW heat pump at Toyotetsu’s production site. The project, which will prevent 1,600 tons of CO₂ emissions by replacing natural gas with heat pumps in air conditioning areas, has also pioneered the transformation of sustainability-focused engineering solutions in the automotive sector.
Form Industrial Products has added another project to its industrial energy efficiency and carbon reduction pipeline. In a sustainability-focused project with Toyotetsu, a leading automotive manufacturer, the company has air-conditioned approximately 30% of the factory’s production areas entirely with heat pumps. The project utilized six Clivet air-to-water heat pumps, five Lennox air-to-air heat pumps, 96 Form high-static pressure fan coils, and nine Form air conditioning units. This eliminated natural gas consumption, saved approximately 7,500 MWh of natural gas annually, and prevented 1,600 tons of carbon emissions.
Zero natural gas, maximum efficiency
The Toyotetsu project, one of the largest projects Form has completed to date, has become a prominent example of energy transformation in the automotive industry. Continuous field measurements revealed a system efficiency of 4.26 with 4 MW of installed capacity in the cooling process, and a system efficiency of 4.41 with 4.8 MW of installed capacity in the heating process. This application, which minimizes energy consumption, both optimized operating costs and provided a high-performance solution for sustainable air conditioning in production areas.
“This collaboration redefines Form’s identity as a strategic solution partner.”
Erdem Şahin, Industrial Project Development Manager for Form Industrial Products, commented on the project: “Our Toyotetsu project is one of the largest projects our department has ever undertaken. This project holds a special place for us not only for its technical capabilities but also for the quality of the collaboration process. Working with a globally powerful manufacturer like Toyotetsu was crucial in demonstrating our engineering perspective and field expertise. We established a working relationship based on high coordination and trust throughout the planning, implementation, and measurement processes we conducted in the field. I believe that projects that deliver such tangible outcomes, especially in line with sustainability goals, will accelerate transformation in the industry. This highly prestigious project for our company has been one of the most concrete demonstrations that Form, as a solution partner, offers not only technological but also strategic value.”
