“INDUSTRIAL RECOVERY IS PROMISING, BUT WE MUST FOCUS ON THE QUALITY OF GROWTH”

Assessing the Turkish economy's 2.3% growth in the second quarter of 2026, PLASFED Chairman Ömer Karadeniz noted that the industrial sector's 2.4% growth in the second quarter—following a 0.8% contraction in the first—was a positive development. Karadeniz emphasized that achieving sustained and robust industrial growth requires improving financing conditions, reducing production costs, and supporting exports.

Machinery exports reached $16.5 billion in seven months

According to consolidated data from the Machinery Exporters' Association (MAİB), Türkiye's total machinery exports—including those from free trade zones—amounted to $16.5 billion in the first seven months of the year. Sevda Kayhan Yılmaz, President of the Machinery Exporters' Association, noted that the Turkish machinery sector has secured the top spot in the Syrian market—where total machinery imports doubled compared to the previous year—and stated, "The battle for market share between Chinese and European manufacturers is intensifying in the rapidly growing Syrian market. New regulations suited to competitive conditions are needed for the Turkish machinery sector, which captured market leadership by refusing to abandon the field even under the harsh conditions of the civil war."

AFYONKARAHİSAR TO BECOME A HUB OF PRODUCTION AND DEVELOPMENT

Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır stated that through these projects, they are unlocking Afyonkarahisar’s potential across a wide spectrum ranging from gastronomy to tourism, women's entrepreneurship to youth employment, and health to energy efficiency. He remarked, "With its robust industrial infrastructure, universities, entrepreneurial population, geothermal resources, expertise in the natural stone and food sectors, rich gastronomy, and strategic location, Afyonkarahisar is set to become one of the production and development hubs of the 'Century of Türkiye'."

Renault Trucks tractor units make up two-thirds of Aybir Lojistik’s fleet

Following the fuel economy, low operating costs, and high operational performance achieved with the initial Renault Trucks tractor units added to its fleet in 2021, Aybir Lojistik has invested in five new Renault Trucks T 480 ADR tractor units. With this latest investment, Renault Trucks vehicles now account for approximately two-thirds of the Aybir fleet.

Approval from the CMB for Kardemir Çelik’s IPO

The initial public offering (IPO) application of Kardemir Çelik, one of Türkiye’s long-established steel producers, has been approved by the Capital Markets Board (CMB). The sale price per share has been set at 35.0 TL, and the IPO size is targeted at approximately 4.48 billion TL.
