The Future of Manufacturing Technologies Gathering at MAKTEK Eurasia 2026

MAKTEK Eurasia 2026, one of Eurasia’s leading gatherings for the manufacturing technologies and machine tool sectors, has opened its doors at the Tüyap Fair and Congress Center. Featuring brands and representatives from 32 countries—including Turkey—the fair brings industry professionals together in Istanbul, showcasing a wide spectrum of technologies ranging from next-generation manufacturing technologies and artificial intelligence to robotics, automation, and digital manufacturing solutions. MAKTEK Eurasia 2026, where products and technologies are being exhibited in Turkey for the first time, will remain open to visitors from September 28 to October 3.

Organized by Tüyap Fairs and Exhibitions Organization Inc. in cooperation with the Machine Tools Industrialists and Business People Association (TİAD) and with the support of the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Trade and the Machinery Manufacturers Association (MİB), MAKTEK Eurasia 2026—the 9th International Machine Tools, Metal and Sheet Metal Processing Machines, Holders and Cutting Tools, Quality Control and Measurement Systems, CAD/CAM, PLM Software, and Manufacturing Technologies Fair—unites the sector's global players in Istanbul.

The fair's opening ceremony brought together prominent representatives of the industrial and manufacturing sectors. Attendees included Mr. Kutlu Karavelioğlu, Vice Chairman of the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM); Mr. Ender Yılmaz, Speaker of the Assembly of the Istanbul Chamber of Industry (İSO); and Mr. [Name], Chairman of the High Advisory Council of the Turkish Machinery Federation (MAKFED). The event was attended by Adnan Dalgakıran; Mr. Murat Akyüz, Chairman of the Board of the Machine Tools Industrialists and Business People Association (TİAD); Mr. Osman Fatih İğrek, Chairman of the Board of the Machinery Manufacturers Association (MİB); Mr. İlhan Ersözlü, General Manager of Tüyap Fairs and Exhibitions Organization Inc. and Chairman of the Board of the Turkish Fair Organizers Association (TFYD); as well as prominent representatives of the industrial sector.

During the opening ceremony, the pivotal role of MAKTEK Eurasia was highlighted regarding the enhancement of the Turkish manufacturing industry's international visibility and export capacity, the support of access to new markets, and the development of new business connections.

Emphasis on MAKTEK Eurasia from Industry Leaders

Tüyap Fairs and Exhibitions Organization Inc. İlhan Ersözlü, General Manager and Chairman of the Board of the Turkish Fair Organizers Association (TFYD), stated that the scale achieved by the fair demonstrates the sector's strong interest in technology and investment, adding:

“MAKTEK Eurasia continues to grow, evolving into a vital platform and meeting point. This year, 156 foreign companies are participating directly, further boosting the fair's international stature. This is because the event offers the opportunity to reach not only the Turkish market but the entire Eurasian region. We are creating a significant platform for selling machinery and showcasing new technologies in Turkey while simultaneously reaching the Eurasian market.

The fair, held across 14 halls and an area of ​​120,000 square meters, showcases machinery and technologies used in diverse sectors. Technologies essential to industries ranging from defense and automotive to food, packaging, plastics, and agriculture are on display here, and we are connecting our visitors with next-generation technologies that will shape the future of manufacturing. A vast technology ecosystem—spanning everything from digital manufacturing, robotics, and automation to AI-driven solutions and interactive experience zones—comes together at MAKTEK Eurasia. This is one of the key factors highlighting the fair's importance. We aim for the strong commercial connections established here to evolve into lasting partnerships and new international business opportunities.” Osman Fatih İğrek, Chairman of the Board of the Machinery Manufacturers Association (MİB), stated that MAKTEK Eurasia is a key meeting point for the machinery sector, highlighting the fair's importance in terms of keeping up with new technologies, shaping investment decisions, and fostering commercial collaborations. İğrek remarked:

“The Turkish machinery industry continues to strengthen its position in global markets by enhancing its production power with technological capabilities. Alongside mechanical manufacturing prowess, elements such as software, automation, digitalization, data utilization, and artificial intelligence are becoming integral parts of machinery. This transformation brings with it new opportunities for investment and collaboration within our sector.
 

"No matter how many robots, technologies, and smart systems we integrate into production, they cannot suffice without strong capital and the right workforce. One of our most critical inputs is human capital. If we fail to strengthen human capital—or to cultivate the right talent—our investments will fall short. At this juncture, we need not only new investments but also the preservation of our existing enterprises. We absolutely must safeguard our human resources and our production dynamism."

In his opening remarks, Kutlu Karavelioğlu, Vice Chairman of the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM), highlighted the transformation in global trade, Türkiye's competitiveness in the machinery sector, and the sector's potential for high-value-added production, noting that the machinery sector holds a strategic position in Türkiye's exports. Pointing out that the share of services is rising alongside the growth in global trade in goods, Karavelioğlu stated:

"The machinery sector remains one of Türkiye's most competitive fields. High-tech and medium-high-tech products account for a significant share of our sector. Our machinery sector is increasingly incorporating a stronger service component—encompassing product design, engineering, installation, operation, and after-sales services. While the cost of developing technology is clear, the benefits it yields are substantial. Of the 6,600 products Turkey exports, 972 belong to the machinery sector. Therefore, we must more effectively leverage the potential within this sector. Machinery and engineering-intensive production stand at the forefront of the areas that will boost Türkiye's competitiveness." 30% increase in international visitor interest

The number of companies and representative offices participating in the event has surpassed 1,300, while the number of participating countries has reached 156.

MAKTEK Eurasia continues to serve as an international meeting point this year, drawing direct participation from various regions across the globe. Participating countries include Germany, the United States, the United Arab Emirates, Bulgaria, China, France, South Korea, Hong Kong, Switzerland, Italy, and Taiwan.

Online ticketing data indicates a 30% increase in the number of international visitors compared to the previous edition.

Over 200 international buyers from 18 countries at MAKTEK Eurasia

Through the Hosted Buyer Program organized as part of MAKTEK Eurasia 2026, the fair is hosting more than 200 international buyers and purchasing delegation representatives from 18 countries.

Purchasing delegations from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Algeria, Morocco, Georgia, Iraq, Iran, Montenegro, Kosovo, Lebanon, North Macedonia, Egypt, Uzbekistan, Russia, Serbia, Tunisia, and Jordan will have the opportunity to closely examine new technologies and manufacturing solutions and establish direct contact with exhibiting companies throughout the fair.

In addition to guided fair tours organized as part of the program, a Networking Meetup—scheduled for September 29 between 14:00 and 16:00 at the Hall 3 Hosted Buyer Lounge—will bring together exhibiting companies and international buyers.

In his speech, Murat Akyüz, Chairman of the Board of TİAD, drew attention to the strategic importance of MAKTEK Eurasia for the sector and stated the following:

New products and technologies debut at MAKTEK Eurasia

MAKTEK Eurasia 2026 brings together technologies from diverse sectors of the manufacturing industry—ranging from machine tools and metal/sheet metal processing machinery to cutting tools, quality control and measurement systems, CAD/CAM software, and robotics and automation solutions—under one roof. Among the 1,208 machines, 132 robots, and thousands of pieces of equipment featured at the fair are numerous next-generation solutions being introduced in Turkey for the first time.

Key product groups at the fair include machine tools, 5-axis machining centers, CNC lathes and machining centers, laser cutting and welding technologies, quality control and measurement systems, cutting tools and tool holders, CAD/CAM and production software, robotics and automation systems, and AI-powered technologies.

Showcasing exhibitors' technological prowess to international markets

Through a collaboration with MTD CNC aimed at boosting international visibility, MAKTEK Eurasia 2026 brings the technological and manufacturing capabilities of participating companies to the global manufacturing stage.

As part of this collaboration, a special three-day production project will capture the technologies, products, and manufacturing solutions of participating companies through professional video content. This content will be distributed via MTD CNC’s international digital channels to manufacturing professionals across the globe.

The initiative aims to sustain the international visibility generated at the fair beyond the event itself and to support participating companies in accessing global markets.

Experiencing the future of manufacturing with MAKTEKVERSE

The MAKTEKVERSE Experience Area, set up in Hall 12A as part of the fair, connects visitors with the future of manufacturing technologies. Offering the chance to experience the factories of tomorrow through VR headsets and simulation tools, the area features interactive demonstrations with humanoid robots and showcases smart fair technologies.

In the MAKTEKVERSE Robot Show area, visitors are treated to an interactive technology experience featuring robot dance shows and performances by Unitree humanoid robots and robot dogs.

The MAKTEKVERSE Stage focuses on both the present and the future of the industry. Experts address key topics on the manufacturing agenda, ranging from CNC machine tool technologies and agentic AI to production and efficiency strategies, as well as physical AI, XR, and digital twin technologies.
