A big step for green transformation from Polat Makina

Polat Makina aims to produce 4.9 million kWh of electricity per year with a 2,400 kWe (AC) capacity solar energy system that it put into operation with an investment of 2 million dollars. Production started on October 18 at the GES, which was established on the 28,500 square meter roof of the factory with the investment incentive certificate of the Ministry of Industry and Technology. With the commissioning of the facility, Polat Makina’s annual electricity consumption of approximately 3 million KW will be met entirely by solar energy. With the increase in the factory’s capacity, it is aimed to use all of the electricity produced in production facilities as of 2027.

Polat Group Holding General Manager Rıza Korkut Özdemir stated that they took a big step within the scope of green transformation targets with this investment, which was implemented with the vision of Polat Group Holding Founder and Honorary President İbrahim Polat, Polat Group Holding Chairman Olcay Polat and other board members. Özdemir expressed that they felt the responsibility to leave more sustainable production methods to future generations with their respect for nature. Özdemir, who stated that they chose the locally produced solar panels used in the investment with the aim of high efficiency, said that the cleaning of the panels will be done autonomously by robots.

Özdemir, who underlined that the visionary perspective of the project architect İbrahim Polat motivated them to present more sustainable production methods, said, “We always set our goals high and work with high motivation to achieve them. We have also implemented our rooftop solar energy system in line with our sustainability vision. We have taken another important step towards our green transformation goals by not limiting sustainability only to production stages but also expanding it to include the production of the energy we need. We will continue our efforts to minimize our carbon footprint in all our business processes.”
