Vega Makina, which provides services on welding technologies to industrial organizations in all sectors, aims to achieve a 25 percent growth in its total sales on a dollar basis in 2023 and a 10 percent turnover increase on a dollar basis in 2024. Vega Makina, which is preparing to establish a production facility in Sivas with an investment of approximately 100 million TL to support the domestic manufacturing industry, plans to produce 5 thousand units in the first year with the new facility, and aims to reach a production of 15-20 thousand units per year in the medium term.

Vega Makina, which provides services to the sectors in the fields of sales, service and training for welding and cutting machines, laser welding machines, welding generators, welding wires, brazing wires and welding consumables, continued its high growth trend that started after the Pandemic in 2023. Stating that their goal is to continue the growth trend they have achieved despite all economic and geopolitical difficulties in 2024, Vega Makina General Manager Serdar Selim Zengin said, “Our sector grows at a rate approximately twice the country average every year, depending on private sector and public investments. We predict that our sector will grow at least 50 percent above Türkiye’s average in the new year. “We think that this growth will be realized with the contributions of the aviation and automotive sectors,” he said.

The investment target for the new facility is 100 million TL

Pointing out that total sales increased by 25 percent in dollar terms in 2023 compared to the previous year, Serdar Selim Zengin stated that the profitability from sales increased at the same rate. Serdar Selim Zengin said, “We achieved a turnover increase of around 80 percent in TL. The most important step we took in 2023 was to make a preliminary agreement on manufacturing in Turkey with the manufacturer abroad with whom we have been a partner for many years. As a result, we started our project preparations with the agreement we reached as a result of a series of meetings. We are in the process of supplying some materials and equipment required for production in our new facility that we will establish in Sivas with an investment target of 100 million TL. “While we plan to produce 5 thousand units in the first year of our new facility, our goal in the medium term is to reach production of 15-20 thousand units per year,” he said.

MILLER products are used in Turkey’s mega projects

Serdar Selim Zengin stated that they also carry out the sales and after-sales services of American-origin MILLER products used in Turkey’s mega projects, and said that they dominate 40 percent of the market in Turkey with their MILLER welding generators, which have an average lifespan of 20 years, and offer superior performance in heavy industrial uses. reported. Stating that welding generators can produce the electricity required for welding in places where there is no electrical energy, Serdar Selim Zengin said, “Construction is currently one of the sectors where welding generators are used most intensively. In addition, it is also used extensively by public institutions due to its use for repair and maintenance purposes. The most common areas of use are pipelines carrying international natural gas and oil. It is also used extensively in the welding of urban natural gas and water pipes for joining and repair purposes. In our country, there are a limited number of brands of welding generators of 400 amperes and above. Among these, the most preferred one is by far the one for which we are the distributor in Türkiye; “The American-origin MILLER brand makes a difference with its high durability and performance,” he said.

MOSA welding generators have more advantages than their competitors in the market

Serdar Selim Zengin stated that they are the Turkish distributor of Italian origin MOSA welding generators, which are produced for heavy industrial use and have a wide range of products suitable for needs, including portable, stationary, gasoline or diesel engine, electronic or digital welding current adjustment, and said, “MOSA 50, which is the Italian BCS GROUP brand.” It has been one of the leading brands worldwide in the production of generator sets, generator welding machines and lighting towers for over years. As Vega Makina, which has been the Turkish distributor of MOSA, which sells products in more than 100 countries, since 2014, we bring our customers together with the solutions of a constantly developing and strengthening business partnership. “Especially the product range diversity, fast delivery, production quality at European standards and technical infrastructure in accordance with European Union norms put MOSA welding generators in a more advantageous position compared to their competitors in the market,” he said.

“Our Novofil and Kobelco distributorships are also going very well.”

Reminding that they serve the Turkish industry with welding and cutting machines, laser welding machines, welding generators, welding wires, brazing wires and welding consumables in their product range, Serdar Selim Zengin said that they have been working for Novofil for more than 10 years and for Kobelco for more than nine years. He stated that they are the distributor in Turkey. Stating that Novofil, which produces unalloyed and light alloy welding wires, and Kobelco, which produces high quality welding consumables, are highly active in Turkey, Serdar Selim Zengin said, “The awareness and usage of Novofil products in the Turkish market is increasing every year. Underlying this success lies the product quality, continuity of quality standards and diversity of production methods, as well as the importance the company attaches to the Turkish market. While the sales amount of these products, which are generally used extensively in the welding of fine-grained structural steels where high strength is desired, reached 120 tons in 2023, we set a target of 250 tons in 2024 sales. On the Kobelco side, it offers product types that are not produced in our country to the market, and these are mainly preferred by companies engaged in the steel manufacturing and assembly industry. As a matter of fact, Kobelco’s products were used in important investments of our country, such as the Osmangazi and 1915 Çanakkale bridges. “While our sales for the Kobelco brand in 2023 were 80 tons, we set our sales target as 120 tons in 2024,” he said.
